The three day INTERPOL Firearm Forensics Symposium for 2013 (IFFS 2013) held in Montreal began with "Hits" on Monday May 14th and ended with "Hits" on Wednesday May 16th -IBIS "Hits" that is.

Jamaica Hosts 13 Critical Tasks Workshop

On August 9th, in Kingston Jamaica, the University of the West Indies hosted a 13 Critical tasks workshop. This event assembled scores of personnel from a wide cross-section of the law enforcement, prosecutorial and government sectors. Their goal was to learn more about how stakeholders can help solve more gun crime by learning about stakeholder management; programme integration; formalising understanding and enforcing directives; the comprehensive collection of evidence and data; the transfer of data and evidence for forensic processing; and the preliminary assessments and evaluation of evidence to provide information.

LYON, France — An international meeting has recently closed at INTERPOL’s General Secretariat headquarters to review national and international trends and advances in firearm forensics analysis and investigations, and to recommend international best practices through a global response to the threat of firearm crimes.
